De-Mystifying Austism Workshop Tomorrow

with 3 comments

Grace is excited to be partnering with the Youth Advocacy Program to host the “De-Mystifying Autism” Workshop. Tomorrow about 180 parents, service providers, and educations will descend on our campus for a workshop lead by author, autism self-advocate, and speaker, William Stillman.

I’m excited about this workshop. Families with special needs children are often unchurched, not because they don’t value spirituality, but because many congregations aren’t committed to overcoming the obstacles to learn how to work with these individuals. My hope is that tomorrow we help network faith communities, parents, and service providers to in a way that serves individuals on the autistic spectrum.

  1. Larry,
I love it! Can you send me more info on how you did this? I’d love to be able to do something similar in my area (Coudersport) on a smaller scale.

    Thanks!

What does Grace do to minister to those with Special needs?

  3. Bill, we don’t create a separate program. What we have is a mind set that’s friendly to the wrap-around philosophy. I wrote a chapter on this in the book “Special Needs, Special Ministries” (Group).
