Observing the ideas and trends that shape children’s ministry

This story reports that children are more energized by this presidential election than past ones. However, the article provides no research to support this claim. What is notable, however, is that the Obama Campaign’s website has a KIDS FOR OBAMA page with advice for how to throw a children’s party to support Obama. Apparently, Obama’s campaign understands the power of youthful idealism, and the investment (and recruiting) that a parent would have to make to pull such a party off.

  1. Perhaps our adults should listen to our youth.
There’s much to be said about dogs and children’s instincts toward people.

    “and the children shall lead.”

  2. :) I wasn’t making any political statements, but noting the shrewdness of Obama’s strategy.

  3. I’m a little behind on reading the posts, but this story illustrates the massive dis-connect that the so-called “mainstream” has with culture and reality. I have heard by open minded parents and educators about what a dangerous thing it is to indoctrinate (some use the word “brainwash”)your children with the church and the Bible and Christianity. Yet I’ve seen children enthusiastically support political candidates because their parents and teachers told them that was the thing to do. Interesting.
