Parenting Modification Helps Kids with Mental Illnesses

There’s a good summary article in today’s New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/22/health/22KIDS.html?hp&ex=1166763600&en=21a74a591bfd839b&ei=5094&partner=homepage) that discusses the interraction of meds WITH parenting modification. It  makes sense to look at a child in terms of the INTERPLAY between the medicine that can reduce the chemical causes of mental illnesses and Parenting which is really a reaction to that child on a day to day basis. This observation falls in lock step with the now current trend of BOTH therapy and meds for most mental illnesses, but this article notes its benefit for the youngest of sufferers.
