Are children becoming more marginalized or more bratty?
2006 August 15

Some think so. This article at MSNBC.com is noting an increased intolerance in our society for children to be noticed. According to the author, more signs are popping up at restaurants asking that children remain seated and use indoor voices. However, the columnist also notes that the flip side of this argument is that children are taught fewer manners than they were in earlier generations. So which is it? Are we raising a generation of brats? Or are adults selfishly wanting child-free oases?
I think that people are seeking a child-free oasis, not every location is a location to take your tot. Children don’t always appreciate all locations any more than their presence is appreciated either and thus they act out!
